This Present Glory, Part III

Friday, July 11, 2003

Beloved, I present to you "This Present Glory, Part III" for you to ponder, but only if you have read in full Part One and Part Two so this message will not be taken out of context. As you ponder all three messages I have sent to you of my pastor's message from a year ago, I pray it will bring you closer to Jesus than ever before - for such a time as this.

Love & Blessings,

Joan Ann

Now let’s go to John, chapter 17, because this is the real Lord’s Prayer. This is the genuine Lord’s Prayer. The other one was the disciples’ prayer, an interim prayer taught by Jesus to the disciples between the time that he would be with them and leave them and the Holy Spirit would come, because the Holy Spirit comes to help us to pray now. No need to pray, “Our Father, which art in Heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come” -- because His Kingdom has come. So why would you pray His Kingdom come when His Kingdom has come? Again, I stop for a few minutes of silence and bow our heads at the loss of our little religious routine that we’ve been doing. Why would you pray and ask God for the Kingdom to come when the Bible tells us already that the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost? And even the disciples were to go and to tell everybody everywhere that the Kingdom of God is come to you. So you don’t have to pray Thy Kingdom come, when His Kingdom is already come….

Let’s go look at John, chapter 17, verse 1.

John 17:1-15 (The Amplified Bible) “1 When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You. 2 [Just as} You have granted Him power and authority over all flesh (all humankind), [now glorify Him} so that He may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah) Whom You have sent. 4 I have glorified You down here on the earth by completing the work that You gave Me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify Me along with Yourself and restore Me to such majesty and honor in Your presence as I had with You before the world existed. 6 I have manifested Your Name [I have revealed Your very Self, Your real Self] to the people whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have obeyed and kept Your word. 7 Now [at last] they know and understand that all You have given Me belongs to You [is really and truly Yours]. 8 For the [uttered] words that You gave Me I have given them; and they have received and accepted [them] and have come to know positively and in reality [to believe with absolute assurance] that I came forth from Your presence, and they have believed and are convinced that You did send Me. 9 I am praying for them. I am not praying (requesting) for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they belong to You. 10 All [things that are] Mine are Yours, and all [things that are] Yours belong to Me; and I am glorified in (through) them. [They have done Me honor; in them My glory is achieved.] 11 And [now] I am no more in the world, but these are [still] in the world, and I am coming to You, Holy Father, keep in Your Name [in the knowledge of Yourself] those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We [are one]. 12 While I was with them, I kept and preserved them in Your Name [in the knowledge and worship of You]. Those You have given Me I guarded and protected, and not one of them has perished or is lost except the son of perdition [Judas Iscariot—the one who is now doomed to destruction, destined to be lost], that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 And now I am coming to You; I say these things while I am still in the world, so that My joy may be made full and complete and perfect in them [that they may experience My delight fulfilled in them, that My enjoyment may be perfected in their own souls, that they may have My gladness within them, filling their hearts]. 14 I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world [do not belong to the world], just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one.”

So here we’re in the world, but He’s keeping us and protecting us.

John 17:16-26 (The Amplified Bible) “16 They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth. 18 Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth. 20 Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching, 21 That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that you have sent Me. 22 I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one: 23 I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that they also whom You have entrusted to Me [as Your gift to Me] may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory, which You have given Me {Your love gift to Me}; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has failed to recognize You and has never acknowledged You, I have known You [continually]; and these men understand and know that You have sent Me. 26 I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make [You] known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them.”

This is a prayer that Jesus prayed. And if you really go back and you just spend time studying this, you’ll see that that prayer He prayed back then, all those years ago. How many know that Jesus gets His prayers answered? Come on now. What most people are praying for, what most people are fasting for, what most people are striving for has already been done! It’s already been done. But no, they don’t want to deal with themselves. They don’t want to deal with the renewing of their mind. They don’t want to deal with putting their flesh under. They just want to keep living in this realm where it’s the devil and them, and it’s like some big thing, you know. “Wake up in the morning – let’s go fight the devil.” Listen, come here and I’ll slap you a good shot and we’ll knock some sense into your head.

Go with me to 2 Corinthians, chapter 3 and verse 6: “6 Who also hath made us (qualified us) made us fit to be worthy and sufficient as ministers and dispensers of the New Covenant [of salvation through Christ], not ministers of the letter, [ - which most preachers are - ] ministers of the letter [the legally written code], but ministers of the Spirit, for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive.”

2 Corinthians 3:7-16 (The Amplified Bible) ‘7 Now if the dispensation of death engraved in letters on stone [the ministration of the Law], was inaugurated with such glory and splendor that the Israelites were not able to look steadily at the face of Moses because of its brilliance, [a glory] that was to fade and pass away,” [ - That’s how it was instituted under the Old Covenant. - ] “8 Why should not the dispensation of the Spirit [this spiritual ministry whose task it is to cause men to obtain and be governed by the Holy Spirit] be attended with much greater and more splendid glory? 9 For if the service that condemns [the ministration of doom] had glory, how infinitely more abounding in splendor and glory must be the service that makes righteous [the ministry that produces and fosters righteous living and right standing with God]! 10 Indeed, in view of this fact, what once had splendor [the glory of the Law in the face of Moses] has come to have no splendor at all, because of the overwhelming glory that exceeds and excels it [the glory of the Gospel in the face of Jesus Christ]. 11 For if that which was but passing and fading away came with splendor, how much more must that which remains and is permanent abide in glory and splendor! 12 Since we have such [glorious] hope (such joyful and confident expectation), we speak very freely and openly and fearlessly. 12 Nor [do we act] like Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze upon the finish of the vanishing [splendor which had been upon it]. 14 In fact, their minds were grown hard and calloused [they had become dull and had lost the power of understanding]; for until this present day, when the Old Testament (the old covenant) is being read, that same veil still lies [on their hearts], not being lifted [to reveal] that in Christ it is made void and done away. 15 Yes, down to this [very] day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their minds and hearts. 16 But whenever a person turns [in repentance[ to the Lord, the veil is stripped off and taken away.”

I tell you what, with some people I wonder if they really have been saved. Cause you can talk till you’re blue in the face, and they cannot see what was purchased at Calvary. They can’t grasp it. They see the Cross. They talk about the Cross. They even cry about the Cross, but they cannot see what was done. It’s like a veil that’s over their -- I’m talking about Pentecostal charismatic preachers. A veil that’s over their mind. They cannot see all that Heaven has.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (The Amplified Bible) “17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom). 18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”

Let me tell you, we are not coming into glory and then going into darkness, and then coming into glory and then going into darkness, and then coming into glory and going into darkness. We’re going from glory unto glory and unto glory and unto glory, and unto glory, and to live in the glory that we have this year will be greater than the level of glory of last year, and greater than the years gone by!….. Oh, glory to God! Hallelujah! Oh, hallelujah! From glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory unto glory!

2 Corinthians 4:1-18 (The Amplified Bible) “1 Therefore, since we do hold and engage in this ministry by the mercy of God [granting us favor, benefits, opportunities, and especially salvation], we do not get discouraged (spiritless and despondent with fear) or become faint with weariness and exhaustion. 2 We have renounced disgraceful ways” [ - You know, you can’t have the glory and walk in disgraceful ways, I’m telling you. - ] “(secret thoughts, feelings, desires and underhandedness, the methods and arts that men hide through shame); we refuse to deal craftily (to practice trickery and cunning) or to adulterate or handle dishonestly the Word of God, but we state the truth openly (clearly and candidly). And so we commend ourselves in the sight and presence of God to every man’s conscience. 3 But even if our Gospel (the glad tidings) also be hidden (obscured and covered up with a veil that hinders the knowledge of God), it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing and obscured [only] to those who are spiritually dying and veiled [only] to those who are lost. 4 For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers’ minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves [merely] as your servants (slaves) for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 7 However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves. 8 We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; 9 We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed;” [ -You might have been knocked down, but you’re not out! He says here - ] 10 Always carrying about in the body the liability and exposure to the same putting to death that the Lord Jesus suffered, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown forth by and in our bodies, 11 For we who live are constantly [experiencing] being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be evidenced through our flesh which is liable to death. 12 Thus death is actively at work in us, but [it is in order that our] life [may be actively at work] in you. 13 Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak. 14 Assured that He Who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise us up also with Jesus and bring us [along] with you into His presence. 15 For all [these] things are [taking place] for your sake, so that the more grace (divine favor and spiritual blessing) extends to more and more people and multiplies through the many, the more thanksgiving may increase [and redound] to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day. 17 For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], 18 Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.”

The choice is yours. Which world are you going to live in? Who are you going to subject yourself to? There are forces all around the world, but they don’t have any authority over us, the Blood-bought, Blood-washed, redeemed children of the living God. We have this treasure, this glory, in earthen vessels. He said, “Out of your innermost being will flow rivers of living water.” That’s where the glory – I don’t care what darkness there is around. Thank God for the glory upon and within. Thank God for His hand upon us, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s only those that realize this that are going to go in and shake cities. It’s only those that have a revelation of what I’m talking about right now. They’re going to carry revival fires around this world. Those that don’t see what I’m saying right now – you wouldn’t even be good enough to get out of bed yourself, hardly, and just even function just as a normal person in life. Hello! Cause you’re still waiting for a day of deliverance. You’re waiting for Jesus to come and hang on a cross again that He can bring you that ultimate deliverance, when really He has already done it, and all you have to do is come through the Blood, through the Cross, into the Resurrection, into the power of Pentecost, into the fullness of the Spirit, living the Spirit-filled life, walking in the Spirit, not fulfilling the lusts of the flesh, renewing your mind, stripping off the old carnal nature, allowing the new life of Christ to come through you, putting on the Lord Jesus Christ, making no provision for the flesh, not giving place to the devil, not allowing the seventeen works of the flesh to have ascendancy in your life but to push those down and have the nine fruit of the Spirit rise up on the inside, and living daily, and walking in His Presence daily, worshipping Him and praising Him. Living in the realm of glory, this present glory. Oh, how glory this present glory is, and oh, the glory that is even upon us is even greater. God is just getting us ready. That’s what these meetings are all about. He’s just bringing us into that place where we become totally yielded and totally submitted to Him so that His Spirit can rise up big on the inside of us that He can flow through us to a lost and a dying world, that His power, that His River – there is a River that flows from the Throne of God. There is a River the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God. There is a River that indwells the heart of men and women. There is a River that will flow out of you that you become a carrier of the glory of God Almighty. Oh, and when you go into a city, devils have to move out of the way. Demon spirits have to back out when you move into town. It’s like a Holy Ghost Rambo coming into town when you move into town. It’s like a Holy Ghost Green Beret when you come into town. It’s a case of, “Go ahead, make my day!” because you come in full of the power, full of the anointing, full of the glory, full of the……..

There are many other things I want to tell you, but I don’t even have the words to put it into the English language. And even if I did have the words to put it in the English language, you wouldn’t believe me, cause you’re just sitting, sitting looking at me just the same way you’re looking at me right now. You wouldn’t believe it, cause you just think I’m standing here preaching cause I needed to have some other message that I needed to preach But if you’ll listen beyond what I’m saying and grab ahold of the Word and put it in your heart, you’ll rise up above the circumstances of life, you’ll rise up and you’ll be changed from glory unto glory unto glory unto glory! Hallelujah!

This present glory! What a wonderful day it is to be alive! What a wonderful day to be breathing on the earth. What a wonderful day – oh, the grass is green, and the sky is blue, and the birds are smiling, and so are you! Hallelujah! Oh, it’s just wonderful, just a wonderful day, another day in the Kingdom of God, another day of rejoicing, another day of blessing, another day of Heaven’s reign, another day of Heaven. Someone said, “No, not another day of victory. Not another day of rejoicing. Not another day of happiness. Oh, but Brother Rodney, you don’t know my problems….” That’s the problem – you’re focused in on the wrong situations. You’ve been looking at your circumstances, have you? They’re going to change. Your circumstances are going to change. They’re temporary. They’re going to change. Oh , fasten your things on eternal things. Look not on the things of the natural. Look not on natural things. They shall change. They shall come to naught. They shall be done away with. They shall come to nothing. Oh, listen to me. The dogs bark, but the caravan keeps moving. Haaaaaaah! Oh!

“But you don’t know my circumstances. You don’t know I’m sick in my body today. You don’t know my financial condition. Brother Rodney, I need a miracle. You don’t know my wife, Brother Rodney. She’s a terrible case. You don’t know my mother-in-law, Brother Rodney. You’ve got to help me.” “You don’t know my church. The people want to kill me. The deacons threatened to kill me last week.” All those things are subject to change. What are you focusing in on? Those things? It’s nothing. It’s but dung. It’s but nothing. That has no bearing on your eternal destiny and where you’re going. It’s just passing away…. Don’t focus in on that. Focus in on eternal things. Focus in on Heaven. See things through Heaven’s eyes.

I pray this week that you would be lifted up into another realm of glory of God, that the things of the earth would grow dimmer and dimmer and dimmer and dimmer, and strange, and seem to fade away into nothing, that that which you came here this morning you thought was so important, you thought was major, you’re going to realize by the end of this week it’s nothing. It’s just nothing. Oh, but focus your attention over on Jesus, the Son of the Living God! Look to Heaven. Look and live, my brother, live! Look to Jesus now, and live! His Presence is here. Heaven is raining upon us even now. If you take down your umbrella and open your heart, you’ll get wet. Take down your umbrella even this day, and get drenched. Some of you haven’t got drenched in awhile. Let God’s glory envelop you. Become saturated with His very Presence.

Lord, I pray for a spiritual hunger across Your people that’s going to get stronger and stronger. A thirst of God for more – all that Heaven has………… Now lift those hands high to Heaven. Let the wind of glory just sweep across this place, right now filling every heart, filling every heart, filling every life, filling every life. Thank You, Jesus. Let the fire of Heaven burn in the hearts of men and women. Lord, Your people have come hungry, and they’ve come thirsty……Thank You, Lord Jesus.
